What makes the nanotechnology different from a topical sealer?

Nanotechnology are able to penetrate deep into the capillary pores of a substrate (the material to which it is applied) allowing the product to cure inside the surface rather than on the surface.

They are invisible, effective, long-lasting, easier to maintain, and affordable. They will not discolor, crack, peel, or require stripping to retreat years later.

For more information, click HERE.

What are the benefits of nanotechnology products curing in the surface rather than on top?

When using NanoSeal products,

  • they enhance the integrity of the substrate by bonding with the fibers within,

  • they do not change the traction of the surface and are safer when wet,

  • they are repelling water and other liquids from surface ingression,

  • they form a permeable function of allowing the ground or back moisture to expel through the surface in the form of vapor which helps keep the material dry,

  • they greatly mitigate the formation or growth of embedded mold, mildew, and algae,

  • they avoid the discoloration of the usual topical sealers as they degrade on the surface,

  • they will never crack, flake, peel, or require stripping,

  • the surfaces can be soft washed going forward to avoid harmful destruction to the property caused by repeated pressure washing,

  • the maintenance is easier and saves both time and money,

  • and prolongs the fresh clean look for years.

What type of surfaces does NanoSeal work on?

NanoSeal products are specifically designed for concrete, pavers, flagstone, rock, travertine, limestone, brick, terrazzo, slate, natural stone, decorative stone, clay tile, stucco, wood, and metal.

Is NanoSeal safe to use around pools?

YES. NanoSeal is safe on pool coping, pool decks, patios, and even water features and slides.

Does NanoSeal really keep surfaces cooler?

YES. A clean surface has tested to maintain a temperature difference of 10-15 degrees F cooler than dirty concrete. The NanoSeal sealers prolong the clean aesthetics of the surface , mitigating the embedded growth of algae, molds, and mildew, thus keeping the surface cooler for years.

How can I get my maintenance team certified to apply NanoSeal products to reduce maintenance needs and associated costs?

Through the NanoSeal University Certified Applicator program, companies are able to provide their employees with the ability to earn continuing education credits. What they will be taught in the Certified Applicator program is how to effectively prepare a surface to apply NanoSeal products, product handling, product storage, necessary equipment, application techniques, and much more. The value of the plan to a company becomes exponencial over time with the reduction of maintenance required, mitigating the cost of repeated maintenance, training the staff to clean exterior surfaces professionally, reducing the excellerated destruction of the exterior surfaces from repeated pressure washing, the reduction of resident or visitor slip-and-fall risks caused by cracked or slimy surfaces, and much more. Special classes are available for group trainings. Please submit a Contact us form for more details.

What is acrylic?

Acrylic is a transparent liquid material with outstanding strength, stiffness, and optical clarity. Acrylic has strong weathering properties compared to many other transparent sealers.

NanoSeal provides lasting acrylic solutions primarily used for exterior applications over stamped concrete with our NanoSeal A5X.

What is hydrophobic?

Hydrophobic means containing water repelling properties.

What is permeable?

Permeable means the surface is repelling liquid molecules from entering the sealed substrate surface, but the moisture below or behind is capable of wicking out in the form of vapor. This is a key function of the nanotechnology molecules in the NanoSeal products.

What is a substrate?

The substrate as described with the application of nanoSeal products means the surface to which the product is being applied.

What are pavers?

Pavers are used for flat surfaces usually in the driveways, walkways, or pool decking. Pavers may be made of a variety of materials including concrete, rock, natural stone, or decorative stone. Pavers may be grouted into place, but mostly will be stabilized with sand placed in between.

How long will NanoSeal last?

NanoSeal hydrophobic sealers from when first applied will last between 5-10 years depending on the amount of direct sun and the care given to the surface over time.

When should the surface be resealed?

We recommend having the surface resealed very three years to provide maximum protection.

If the surface is no longer beading, does that mean the sealer is not working?

The beading is an attractive feature when the sealer is first applied. The beading will diminish with direct sunlight and time. This does not automatically mean the sealer is not working.

How do I test to see if the sealer is still working?

To test the sealer effectiveness, pour water on the surface and see if the surface changes colors from the water is soaking into the surface. In some cases, a slight change may occur but the surface still dries exponentially faster than untreated areas. In this case, the sealer is still working but would be maximized with another fresh coat. Contact your Certified Applicator.

Will NanoSeal keep engine oil from staining?

NanoSeal nanotechnology sealers are hydrophobic toward the ingress of water and water base liquids, soft drinks, wine, and other drinks. Engine oils and other fossil fuels may leave a stain. the stain will be easier to remove as the liquid is less likely to penetrate deeper than the barrier created in the substrate.

How should oil and other fossil fuel stains be removed?

We recommend contacting your Certified Applicator to come professionally remove the stains and apply another coat of NanoSeal.

How often should my property be cleaned?

NanoSeal products will keep dirt, pollens, grime, sludge, mud, mold, mildew, and algae from embedding deep into the pores of the substrate but they may form on the surface. For that reason, we recommend having an annual or periodic maintenance service contract in place with the Certified Applicator.

Will Nanoseal protect against coastal salt air, ocean or pool saltwater, or salts added for traction in northern climates?

Yes. nanoSeal products are salt air, saltwater, salt crystals, and sodium hypochloride (bleach) resistant.

How is NanoSeal different from other nanotechnology sealers?

The main ingredients in nanotechnology sealers are either Siloxanes and Silanes. The specific combination of each proprietary formula may vary exponentially by the types and quantities of each in the specific product. For more details about NanoSeal click HERE

Will NanoSeal make my surface slippery when it gets wet?

No. Sealing with NanoSeal is safer than using products that have topical curing compounds. NanoSeal is an impregnating nanotechnology sealer which soaks into the substrate, cures below the surface, and does not change the traction of the surface.

Will NanoSeal change the color of my concrete, pavers, stone, or other surface?

NanoSeal provides special proprietary products for all exterior surfaces. We offer the customer a choice of results. Our primary products are invisible to the naked eye, have no change in color, no change in traction, will not discolor, crack, or peel, and never require stripping.

NanoSeal also has products that are formulated to purposefully enhance the colors, characteristics, impurities, and grains within the substrates. These products maintain all the non-slip, no cracking, no peeling, featured while providing a rich, wet-look in the surface.

Do NanoSeal products have a pleasant or harmful odor?

NanoSeal products are each formulated with a pleasant odor. In most cases, the customer can not tell the seal was applied by any lingering smell. For the products that do take a bit longer to dicipate, the odors are non-caustic in nature.
